A Daughter of Mars

Hearing her footfalls shall quicken your pulse,
Seeing her form shall send a rush of blood,
Every iota of your being shall become an impulse,
Emotions in flux, a flood;

Thoughts into ideas, shall manifest,
Her lithe frame, dancing across your eyes,
Your very essence shall dissolve, as if in alkahest,
Taking her hand, will it be wise?

Her skin is as hot as anger, as cold as ignorance,
Makes your heart melt and your blood boil,
Your thoughts cold and your mind freezes, pure dissonance,
Can you endure such toil?

Your universe stagnates, as you hold her gaze,
You dare court a daughter of war!
Holding her sets your soul ablaze,
Is this how they perished, the Men of yore?

You flirt with Delirium, as your lips meet hers,
Her hair has an ethereal fragrance,
Her taste is intoxicating, more potent than liqueurs;
Will you ever be the same, or the past shall only be a remembrance?

She is everything you could fantasize;
A being of great and terrible power,
An idea that does not need to be romanticized,
A perfect lover;
