I Am Yours
I am yours...
This entails so much more than what the words phonetically pronounce,
As I navigate your psyche and mine: Our mental contours,
At every opportunity to profess how I feel, I shall pounce;
I am yours...
In this hedonistic existence, I have found the holy grail,
We chart these emotional waters, we skirt these pleasure-full shores,
Yet I fear, for what if our love lasts longer than our trust? What if we fail?
I am yours...
So I will be, yet how can I not fear, to lose someone so dear?
We have just begun and already faced so much, so daunting: This overture,
My angels sing of my survival and my endurance, while my demons simply jeer;
I am yours...
Are you mine?
Every possibility my mind explores,
Time spent with you is as subtle as the creeping intoxication of an impassioned wine;
I am yours...
I do not wish to lose control,
Yet you already ask for an encore?
I hope you do not break my heart, lest you cajole;
I am yours...
Like the leaves are of the tree,
Be my serenity, be my succour,
In each other's arms, let us be free?
I will be yours.
Won't you stay mine too...
In each other's arms, let us be free?
I will be yours.
Won't you stay mine too...
