A Song For Aeneas

I Sing of Arms & of a man,
Yet this song is not the first of its kind,
It speaks of one saving and salvaging his clan,
For in his journey, an entire civilization he defined;

The last hero of Troy became the first of Rome,
It is of Aeneas that I sing,
How much did you wander, how much did you roam?
What did it take for you to finally break Juno's chaotic ring?

From Troy to Sicily and ultimately to Italy, you traveled under the heralding flag of the Gods,
Latium welcomed and shunned you, Latinus embraced a possible future,
Yet your struggle was not over, you still had foes, what odds!
Your wounds, your victory, only healed by Lavinia's suture;

You are the verity of Banquo's prophecy,
The founder of not only a civilization but also a line of kings,
From Remus and Romulus to Arthur himself, what a progeny!
In history and royal blood, your name clings;

O Great Founder! May your soul rest in peace!
Your immortal name has survived the ravages of time,
Thy blood has survived and endured the very wrath of Greece!
The advent of a very martial paradigm.
