An Ode To Prometheus
What Your Immortal eyes saw,
No Titan had before,
There lies the inception of your lore,
Thy belief in humanity led you to flout the law!
The laws of Gods, against whom you rebelled,
The Gods in Olympus, where they dwelled,
Then they inflicted pain on you, a pain so raw,
The chains, the rock and finally the vulture,
Is this a fate, not dissimilar to vivisepulture?
For eternity, you were subject to the vulture and its maw;
Caught in limbo, yet not so,
A fate worse than death imposed,
A sentence passed by divine will, as laws simply posed,
Yet thine spirit remained enkindled and there it glows,
Why this inveigle, why this deceit?
What form of kindness qualifies for hate this sweet!
Wherefrom, your indefatigable selflessness flows,
That you would hinder your own existence,
That you would orchestrate your own cruel subsistence?
Share this ability to give, for the present day humanity just throws;
Thy divine indictment was due to thy nurturing spirit,
A sum of compassion for human wretchedness,
A destruction of moral blessedness,
Gifting us fire, in Our future you brought the power of Hephaestus: To rivet!
You remain as the most profound & cherished iconoclast in human history,
Your iconoclasm shall always be remembered and its conception, an ethereal mystery,
In thy honour we thrive and not only kindle fires, but also give it,
Give it to each other to warm our hearts in thy nurturing shade,
May your eternal self finally find rest and overcome the righteousness which was betrayed,
If I could, I would your damnation, Omit!
