Laws of Gods & Men

They chose, to walk through the inferno,
They Chose, to walk towards the light,
They could have avoided pain: so thorough,
Yet they had a different path in mind, an alternate sight;

Their choices, their paths, always different,
It was written that they would perish in ice,
In the flow of time, they tore a rent,
They defied their written fate, overcoming all their vice;

It is the will of men, that may defy the laws of Gods,
Yet it is the laws of men which bind them, what an irony!
Men choose what may bind them: such facades,
Such an enigma, this self inflicted agony;

This fallacious sense of justice and righteousness,
Who are you trying to fool, O ye Godly men?
If the Gods show their manliness, then it would end your fake piousness!
I thirst for exhibitions of pure belief, every now and then;

If men were to be Gods, they would make terrible Titans,
And if Gods were men, men would never survive,
It is in this belief, the noose around the neck of Gods, tightens,
You Godly men survive on the mercy of Gods who choose not to be men, on this: You thrive;

Walk! Walk away towards the light: Your eternal journey,
This infinite carousel is your damnation,
Your idiosyncrasies and self-conceived malarkey,
You flout the laws of Gods, a masochistic flirtation;

To what end? Do the men choose to do what they do,
The laws of Gods and men are dissimilar,
I hope that men do not regret their actions, that they do not rue,
Hope they break this cycle of damnation and live life: Without encumber;

Recognize the power of thy will,
Embrace the Gods within and treasure thy mortality,
Breaking the balance between the laws of Gods & Men is not worth a thrill,
 Wield your own potential and prevent your own demise: A fatality.
